Advertising campaign for Beypore Water Fest is in full swing

A Mehendi design session by students in progress as part of the publicity campaign for the Beypore Water Fest in Kozhikode.
The Beypore Water Fest held at Beypore Marina last December was a once-in-a-lifetime experience not only for Beypore, but for the entire Kozhikode district. Therefore, hopes are high for the second edition of the festival to be held from December 24 to 28. The organizing committee is sparing no effort to make the festival much bigger and grander this time around.
The festival’s advertising campaign kicked off on December 2, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, with a variety of programs for children with disabilities. The program titled “Seeing the Capable, Not the Label” was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Permanent Planning Committee of Kozhikode Corporation, K. Krishna Kumari. In her speech, she offered the Corporation’s full support for the water festival.
The second phase of the campaign showcased the artistry of the students, who gathered at Beypore Breakwater on December 9 with Mehendi design and make-up sessions. Students from various colleges in the district participated in the beach cleanup campaign on the same day.
Exploring Beypore’s various tourist possibilities is one of the goals of the water festival, and the “Literary Trial” held on December 10 served this purpose. About 30 students from the Feroke Institute of Management visited major sites in the region such as the Common Wealth Tile Factory in Feroke, the German Bungalow Manufacturing Units, Uru (dhow), the House of the writer Vaikom Mohammed Basheer, Jhankar and breaking the water to prepare a project on the tourist possibilities of these places. Sub-collector V. Chelsasini launched the literary trial and then inaugurated a seminar on the subject of Beypore’s tourist development. Deputy Director of Tourism Shine KS, Director of Kerala Institute of Tourism and Travel Studies (KITTS) MR Dileep and Representative of Adventure Water Tourism Irish Valsamma spoke at the seminar.
