Black Friday: The best TV deals on LG OLED, Roku TV, QLED and more
This story is part Gift guideour year-round collection of the best gift ideas.
black friday The week has arrived and we believe you should buy smarter, not harder. By the end of Cyber Monday in seven days, the best TV prices of the year strike Amazon, best buy, walmart and Target. Lots of TVs are on sale, but not all of them are bargains.
Below, you’ll find a handpicked handful of the best TV deals that I think are worth your time. They include some of best tvs I reviewed this year as the Hisense U8H and LG C2 OLED TV, as well as cheaper TVs that I haven’t reviewed. Look for more updates and offers soon.
Notes for Monday, November 21:
- Prices are always accurate, but availability may vary depending on inventory at your local stores.

Onn
It’s quite simply one of the lowest prices we’ve seen on any 40-inch TV so far. Onn is Walmart’s own brand and we haven’t tested any Onn TVs so can’t comment on its picture quality, but at this price it’s tempting nonetheless. And it runs the Roku TV operating system, our favorite. Note that inventory may vary depending on your local store stock and that obtaining a Walmart Plus Subscription can help you get to the front of the queue.

TCL
The TCL 5 series doesn’t have the same level of picture quality as our favorite TV for the money, the Series 6, but it’s a very good price on a mid-range model. The Google TV operating system is also second fiddle to Roku in our book, but again… the price.

Hisense/CNET
In our Budget TV roundup, the A6 didn’t quite match the image quality of TCL and Vizio, but if you just want to pay as little as possible for a 75-inch screen, this is a bargain. We also liked its Google TV operating system, though not as much as Roku, and it moved a little slowly on the A6. Then again, for this price you can always add another streaming device and always in the lead.

Amazon
Leave it to Amazon release a brand new tv then reduce the price less than two months later. It’s the cheapest 65-inch TV I’ve seen this year with full local dimming, my favorite picture enhancement supplement for non-OLED TVs. I haven’t reviewed it yet, but from what I’ve seen it can’t match the picture quality or gaming features of TVs like the Vizio MQX or Hisense U8H, but it costs hundreds less and should still outperform entry-level TVs. And yes, you can turn off its creepy auto-sensing features and always-listening mic.

OLED TVs represent the pinnacle of TV picture quality and although we haven’t reviewed the A2 series yet, it should come close to the picture of the excellent C2 (which is also on sale, see here below). That’s a good price on an OLED TV, partly because of its small size and also because the A2 lacks the picture quality specs of models like the C2. That said, it’s still a hell of a deal. David Katzmaier
Of the 65-inch TVs we’ve reviewed, this Hisense U8H looks like the best Black Friday deal yet. Its image quality is simply terrific, thanks to superb brightness, and at the moment the price is somewhere between the Vizio MQX and the TCL 6 series, which cost $50 more and less respectively. Until those prices change, the Hisense is our pick by nose, though all three are excellent.

The C2 is our favorite premium TV for the money in 2022, and it’s the best price of the year so far. Sure, it’s still pricey, but it beats every non-OLED TV we’ve tested with perfect black levels, unbeatable contrast and superb off-angle viewing. It is also available in other sizes, from 42 to 83 inches.
Note that in previous years LG reduced the price of its “C” models earlier in November than this year. For that reason, we’re not expecting a big price drop on this TV by Black Friday, but you never know.
