BREAKING: MASSIVE FLASH FLOOD In Fort Lauderdale causes airport to close… Man captured on video swimming down busy street to safety… 15-20 inches of rain in 7 hours[VIDEOS] | The gateway expert

100% fed up reports – In just seven hours, 16 inches of rain fell in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where flash flooding is wreaking havoc on the Fort. Lauderdale Airport, which is now closed, and downtown, vehicles can be seen floating in the streets.

Tornado warnings were issued in Fort Lauderdale, with areas of the big city receiving 15 to 20 inches of rain.

Meteorologist Bob Henson tweeted about the historic flooding in Ft. Lauderdale:

If confirmed, this preliminary total of 22.59 inches in just seven hours tonight in Fort Lauderdale would erase the city’s rainfall record for ***three calendar days** (18.24 inches from Oct. 19-21 1924)

Several videos showing water flowing rapidly through the streets of downtown Fort. Lauderdale are shared on Twitter.

A man was filmed swimming to safety on a flooded road where vehicles were still driving down Broward Boulevard.

In this video, a man can be seen cycling around vehicles with the water completely covering his bike.

Homes in Fort Lauderdale are also flooded. This incredible video taken by ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington shows water rushing through an open doorway. In his tweet, he shared that several neighbors’ homes are flooded, a neighbor’s back porch has collapsed, and tornado warnings are being issued in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Water flowing down the streets is something Floridians are used to seeing during hurricane season.

Wild photos and videos showing flooding inside and outside Fort Lauderdale International Airport are popping up all over social media.

This Fort Lauderdale airport customer had to come back inside the baggage area because the roads were flooded, and now the airport is starting to flood.
