Caltrain to cut service for 2 weeks starting Monday as electrification project continues | New

Caltrain service will be reduced by more than a third and end earlier each night for a two-week period beginning Monday, December 5.
Crews will work to accelerate a project between Belmont and Mountain View stations, as part of a larger diesel-to-electric conversion project that is expected to be completed in 2024.
The number of trains per day will be reduced to 68 – from 104 currently – on weekdays from Monday and the last two weeks. Normal service will resume on Monday, December 19.

Weekend train service between Belmont and Mountain View will be replaced with bus service. Passengers can be transferred to the SamTrans bus service through the affected area, which will increase passenger travel time by 60 to 90 minutes.
