There are plenty of high profile transfers that have moved to the Big Ten this offseason, but now is the time for Rivals.com to take a look at the ‘sleepers’ who are about to make an impact. immediately in 2023.

DeQuence Carter, WR, Indiana

Indiana the head coach Tom Allen was looking to add more firepower to the Hoosiers offense this offseason and the former Fordham wide receiver DeQuence Carter could become an explosive playmaker in 2023. Carter is fresh off a 2022 campaign in which he passed 56 for 1,166 yards and 13 touchdowns.

During his four years with the Rams, Carter recorded an impressive 176 receptions for 3,036 yards and 31 touchdowns while averaging 17.2 yards per catch.

Sean Tyler, RB, Minnesota

Minnesota the head coach PJ Fleck was able to return the old one West Michigan returning from its origin Oklahoma State commitment this off-season. It’s a big addition for the Gophers, who replace the school leader in rushing yards and touchdowns in Mohammad Ibrahima first-team All-Big Ten performer.

Tyler can easily step in and fill the void after rushing for over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons for the Broncos while being a pass-catching threat out of the backfield. His last two years at Western Michigan, Tyler rushed for 2,177 yards and 16 touchdowns while catching 26 passes for 225 yards and three other scores.

Michael Dixon, S, Rutgers

Dixon was a solid pickup for the Scarlet Knights as the former Minnesota safety is coming off his best college season in 2022 in which he had 28 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and three assists defended – all career highs.

The Georgia native is also reunited with Rutgers defensive coordinator Joe Harasymiakwho was previously in Minnesota.

Darian Varner, DE, Wisconsin

There is a lot of discussion around WisconsinOffensive transfers, but perhaps not enough chatter about Varner’s addition. The Virginia native is coming off an All-AAC performance in 2022, recording 35 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks in ten games.

After entering the transfer portal, Varner initially pledged to Virginia Tech before being snatched by Luc Fickel and his team to help rebuild the Badgers.

Tyrese Chambers, WR, Maryland

Maryland has a talented quarterback in Taulia Tagovailoa back, but he must replace three veteran receivers heading to the NFL Draft. Enter the old FRC product Tyrese Roomswho will have his chance to flourish on the Power Five stage after stages at the JUCO, FCS and Group of Five levels.

Chambers had a productive 2022 season, catching 51 receptions for 544 yards and four touchdowns. His breakout season came in 2021, when he recorded 45 catches for 1,045 yards and nine scores.
