Halalan 2022 top trending topics on Google in 2022
MANILA – Filipinos were obviously concerned about the recent presidential elections, as Halalan 2022 was the most searched topic on Google in 2022.
On Wednesday, Google released its Year in Search 2022 report, revealing the top trends, news, personalities, shows and more that Filipinos searched for on Google this year.
Halalan 2022 took the top spot in the overall list of most popular searches as Filipinos kept up to date with information regarding the 2022 national polls on how to find their constituency, voting resources, and results.
“Precinct finder” also made its way up the overall chart to number three.
As COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease, VaxCertPH has remained at the top of the list for the second year in a row. The certificate that proves that a person is vaccinated against COVID-19 has become a requirement for travel and face-to-face engagements.
Last year, the term landed at number four on the list.
Meanwhile, basketball player Ricci Rivero was the most searched male personality on Google after his championship stint with the University of the Philippines and his romance with actress Andrea Brillantes.
Topping the list of female personalities was American actress Amber Heard, who made headlines this year after losing a libel case brought by Johnny Depp. Actress and host Kris Aquino, who has battled several autoimmune diseases, took second place.
Korean zombie series “All of Us Are Dead” beat out “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” in the list of most searched Korean series. It also tops the list of series/TV shows.
Adie and Janine Berdin’s song “Mahika” was the most searched Pinoy song of 2022 after taking third place in Google’s Song Lyrics category, behind “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Sun and Moon “.
