Mitch McConnell fires up Fox News on Tucker Carlson’s 1/6 lies

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) sided with Capitol Police and criticized Fox News for Tucker Carlson’s lie-filled 1/6 propaganda.

McConnell said when asked if he thought it was a mistake on President McCarthy’s part to give Tucker Carlson 1/6 of the Capitol security footage, “My concern is how it was represented, which is a different issue Obviously the capitol police chief, in my opinion, is accurately describing what most of us witnessed firsthand on January 6th, so that’s my It was a mistake for Fox News to portray this in a way that is completely at odds with what our law enforcement official here on Capitol Hill thinks.

Mitch McConnell held up a letter from the Capitol’s Chief of Police that called Carlson’s segment “offensive and misleading.”

What we are seeing is Fox News tearing itself apart. Fox News has been the media unifier on the right. On one side is MAGA, which features McCarthy, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan and many more. They are opposed by a growing number of Republican senators and non-MAGA Republicans.

Fox News itself depends on its MAGA viewers. It seems like a possibility that the conservative media will also break out. Rupert Murdoch is so worried about hurting his bottom line with a viewers rebellion that he allows Carlson to propagandize a domestic terrorist attack.

McConnell doesn’t get a parade for picking the right side, but it’s a sign that the storm clouds are only growing for the Republican Party and Fox News.
