Ranking the highest number of runs and wickets in Lanka Premier League 2022: Andre Fletcher and Carlos Brathwaite top the charts
Galle Gladiators faced Colombo Stars in the 2022 Lanka Premier League Round 12. Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele hosted this fierce contest.
The Gladiators were asked to strike first and they posted 193 on the board, thanks to contributions from Kusal Mendis (72) and Asad Shafiq (58). Naveen-ul-Haq took two wickets for the Stars as they took five in total.
In response, Dinesh Chandimal (63) and Charith Asalanka (46) contributed which helped them take the game to the finish. Ravi Bopara held his nerves and went undefeated on 31 off just 12 to get his side over the line on the final ball. Nuwan Thushara and Anwar Ali picked up three scalps each but the Gladiators failed to defend the total.
Lanka Premier League 2022 Most Run Races List
Kandy Falcons’ Andre Fletcher continues to top the 2022 Lanka Premier League list of most runs. The right-handed fly-half has scored 185 runs in five matches and batted 46.25. He scored a century in his first game and is in fine form with the bat.
Fletcher Opening Partner Pathum Nissanka is placed in second position. Nissanka scored 177 points in five games averaging 35.40. He and Fletcher are giving the Falcons solid starts. Avishkar Fernando of Jaffna Kings also has 177 races to his name and sits below Nissanka in the 2022 Lanka Premier League racing list.
Galle Gladiators skipper Kusal Mendis scored 72 of 49 balls against the Stars and took his tally to 177 in five games. He jumped to fourth place and leads the Gladiators forward. He will be looking forward to continuing to contribute to their upcoming clashes.
Lanka Premier League 2022 Highest Wickets List
Carlos Brathwaite of Kandy Falcons is the top wicket-taker in the Lanka Premier League 2022. He had 11 wickets in five games averaging 8.82. He bowls at a save rate of 6.06 and leads the Falcons’ bowling offense brilliantly.
Galle Gladiators’ Nuwan Thushara played with the ball in their clash against the Stars. He bowled beautifully and finished with figures of 3/29 in his four overs. He now has nine wickets to his name in the competition and sits below Brathwaite in the list of most wickets.
Vijayakanth Viyaskanth of Jaffna Kings have grabbed eight wickets in four games and are placed below Thushara. He has an average of 11.88 with the ball and a save rate of 5.94. He plays a vital role for the Kings and will be looking to add a few more to his tally in the next outing.
