Welcome to economic hell – RedState
The inflation figures for October 2021 have fallen, and while they have excited Wall Street, normal Americans are in shock. The consumer price index came in at 7.1%, but that’s only part of the story.
Consider which products are seeing their biggest price increases and ask yourself if your prices have only increased by 7.1% year over year.
Inflation is a tax on ALL Americans.
📈Eggs are UP 49.1%
📈Airline fares are up 36%
📈Milk is up 14.7%
📈Electricity is up 13.7%
📈Running increased by 12%
📈 Chicken is up 12%
📈Gas is up 10.1%
📈Baby food increased by 10.9%— House Republicans (@HouseGOP) December 13, 2022
Yesterday I tried to go buy some meat at the grocery store with the idea of buying rib steaks. The prices were so exorbitant that I came home with a package of pork. There was absolutely nothing available in the meat department that I would consider affordable for a normal family. It’s just a matter of the quality one wants to go for while paying too much for it. Meanwhile, eggs, perhaps the most common family staple, rose 49.1%.
But those numbers don’t even tell the whole story because we’ve now officially entered the period where year-over-year totals tell us nothing except that last year’s totals were also high. When your benchmark is 6.8%, which is the November 2021 inflation rate, then that 7.1% in 2022 actually represents a 14.4% price increase since Joe Biden was elected.
🚨 🚨 🚨
Inflation compared to 24 months/2 years earlier:
14.4% in November 2022
14.4% in October
14.0% September
13.7% August
14.3% July
14.9% June
14.0% May
12.7% April
March 11.3
9.6% Feb.
8.9% Jan.
Inflation is now much worse than it was at the start of the year, geniuses.

It’s crazy to think that Americans are paying 14.4% more for things (and a lot more for many important things) than they were just two years ago. It’s Joe Biden’s America and its economic hell. Of course, we also have an official term for what it is. This is called stagflation, described as persistently high inflation coupled with persistently unimpressive growth. It’s the 1970s again, and it only took one senile old man in the White House to make it a reality.
To that I say “great job America”. Far too many voters went to the polls last month and voted for the Democrats at levels no one expected, stamping out the possible red wave and putting their stamp of approval on this horrible and disastrous presidency. How it works ? Biden and his cohorts will only double now, and it was completely avoidable.
What’s even more infuriating is that Karine Jean-Pierre and the rest of the White House propagandists will come out and proclaim this latest inflation report a victory. It’s a win for them that you’re paying about 20% more for groceries than when they took office, and no one in the media is going to call them out on it.
Answer me this: How bad do things have to get before voters stop valuing ridiculous personality arguments over actual political outcomes? Should eggs be $10 a dozen? Does low-grade ground beef have to cost $8 a pound? Will this finally bring these people back to reality? Because I’m sick of suffering so that leftist ideologues can feel good about themselves on Twitter. I bet most people reading this are too.
